Charlie Banana Cloth Diaper Review

After having introduced you to a couple of cloth diaper brands here on The Mommy Blog, it’s time I introduce you to one of the very famous brands named ‘Charlie Banana‘. Isn’t the name just too cute?? Charlie Banana is based out in Hong Kong. All of their products are made out of a love to quality, eco-friendliness and design. They manufacture and distribute their own items so they can control everything from start to finish.

I’ve been cloth diapering for over an year now and have absolutely loved them from the first-time I came across them on the internet. And this time we tried the cutest and the softest cloth diapers ever. Alhamdulillah!

Last month I was so so delighted to receive this fluffy package of the Charlie Banana cloth diapers that came home all the way from Hong Kong. My first reaction on seeing the diapers was “Oh my gosh!! They are sooo adorable”. And I have to confess that everyone who saw it reacted almost the same way. The Husband, Mum and Grandmum included 😉

The very next thing I noticed about these daipers was their super soft and plush material. Both inner and outer layers. And after one month of intense use, the softness and colours are still pretty much the same.

So this is what we were sent, a set of three one-size cloth diapers from their Wonderland Collection.

These diaper are Hybrid Cloth diapers. I know you just said..What the heck is a Hybrid diaper?? Well, hang in there because I will get into that. A hybrid diaper is basically a diaper that can be used either with a disposable or reusable/washable insert. And my pack came with six microfiber inserts. You may want to use disposable inserts when your travelling or on a vacation, when you just don’t want to do any extra laundry.

The outer layer is made of soft and colourful PUL. With super soft microfleece on the inside which is made of 100% polyester. Each Charlie Banana cloth diaper comes with two microfiber inserts.

These inserts are thick enough to soak up good amount of pee. You can either use one or both together depending upon how heavy a wetter your baby/toddler is.

This diaper is a pocket diaper with a flip opening in the front with adjustable no-slip, bra straps on either side of the diaper so it came accommodate our a baby and a preschooler. And I’m happy the way it’s do for our 11 months old and 2.8 years old so easily.

The no-slip, bra strap are the adjustable elastics on the side so you can change the size from S to M to L. And honestly I have never used any diapers with such adjustable straps or something but this one is lovely and super easy to put on your baby.

We have been using both the inserts together as they are both super heavy wetter. I haven’t noticed any leakage, changing the diaper every two hours or if it is soiled.

I have tried to snap a few pictures of our girls in the Charlie Banana diapers, but I will not call it a success. Because the Big Thing is growing super super conscious about me photographing her in her ‘diapers’ ( with no clothes on. of course!). So most of the time she was running around the house, escaping and playing tantrums.

While I madly tried for more than half an hour to get a few decent pictures of the Little Thing. And I swear, at the end of the ‘session’ I was drenched in my own sweat. You know when you have a racing toddler and camera in hand. Plus your little preschooler?

Not just the diapers we were also sent a pair of these Charlie Banana legwarmer which I completely adore.

Overall, we are in love with our Charlie Banana pocket diapers. They are of high quality, fits amazing, and super functional. Plus the adorable prints and bright colours are to-die-for. And I plan to grab some more stuff from this brand.

Oh did I tell you about their Operation Smile?? Well. it’s an international medical charity that provides free reconstruction surgeries to children suffering from cleft lip, cleft palate or other facial deformities. By purchasing Charlie Banana products, you can help change a child’s life.

Charlie Banana also proudly supports Project Save Child. It’s a non-profit organization dedicated to helping prevent child abductions and kidnapping through education and public awareness campaigns

For all you mommies, who want to start cloth diapering or for those who are already into it, then you seriously need to go check their website out to learn about their latest releases Extraordinary Best Reusable Training Pants and the Extraordinary Best Reusable Swim Diapers and don’t forget to follow Charlie Banana on Facebook.

    • Yes these do have PUL on the outside.
Leg warmers are what you can put in the baby do keep her legs warm! Lol These are to be used with cloth diapers instead of full pjs, if that makes sense!😊
